We want you to meet an organism we have been slowly nurturing. An organism with a shifting form and shape, an organism in a state of constant transformation.
Beds combines three levels of networking, collaboration, and mobility: an international network of artists, a mobile art organisation, and a locally networking art event with a focus on performance art in a broad sense.

Beds was originally called together by artists Lucia Bricco (IT/GR) and Iulia Ghiţă (RO/IT), but it has no central leadership, as it organizes and re-organizes itself according to the needs and ambitions of those taking actively part in its actions in different times.

The three levels of the bunk beds
Beds is an ethereal network of artists, reaching from Italy to China, from Ireland to Finland. It enables many different forms and combinations for international collaboration and many different levels of taking part and commitment. Performance art is in central position of Beds, but the multidisciplinary network of artists brings together multiple approaches to visual arts, media arts, dance, theatre, puppetry, and writing.
Beds is a collective organism, oozing slowly its way on the European map, finding places to rest and nest for a while before continuing its travel. It leaves a trail of slime behind, that creates connections, fast and slippery connections between its previous and future locations, for the different local agents to find collaborations, companionships, friends.
Every now and then Beds comes out, and becomes a local event in different locations in Europe. On local level Beds also creates a network of different artist and activist organizations.

Our next event will be held in October 2024 in Cluj, Romania in collaboration with Centrul de Interes.
